Can an outfit be cute and dark at the same time? Can it evoke thoughts of vampires, and nighttime, and mystery… and kawaii-ness?
I think so! π¦
Today I have 3 different gothic kawaii looks to inspire your cute AND dark side!
1. Minimalist Gothic Kawaii ~ Red and Black
When I think of “gothic,” I think of a misty Victorian garden, full of blood-red rosesπΉ
I also think of the dark night sky π€ That’s what inspired this red and black outfit! π€πΉ
It’s cool enough for summer and very simple to recreate. All you need is a black top and a red skirt ~ black bow tie and cute purse optional.
And of course, add your own touches: black choker, combat boots, torn fishnets, or anything that screams “YOU” π
2. Black and Purple Kuromi “Chibi” Outfit
“Gothic” also makes me think of the emo/scene fashion ~ a style that I miss so much!! Here I have a Kuromi sweater as the main focus πππ
This one is a more playful sort of gothic.
It’s also easy to recreate ~ the sweater gets all the attention, then you can add other gothic or kawaii elements. (Also, I call this style “chibi” because it makes me look smaller!! π)
3. Wednesday Addams Inspired Gothic Kawaii
This outfit also makes me feel like a chibi character π€
This one is inspired by Wednesday Addams… I even did the braids!π¦ You can also tuck in the top, for a less chibi just normal look:
This was a requested blog post and I had so much fun with it!!
Thanks SO MUCH for the idea! π€
And thanks to everyone reading my blog π₯Ήπ€ Your positive comments and helpful suggestions are so amazing!

Which type of gothic do you prefer: Minimalist? Emo/Scene? Dark gothic? Other?

Ooh, I didn’t know you liked to add gothic pieces to your outfits too! I love all of these! Black and red is usually my go to colours, but I love purple too, and Kuromi is PERFECT for being both gothic and kawaii π I love all the outfits you’ve put together here, and I love seeing a different side to your fashion sense βΊοΈ

Oh my goodness, these outfits are AMAZING!!! Gothic kawaii is definitely a style I admire! And you totally rocked it in such unique ways! I adore all of these looks, and I think my favorite would be the Wednesday Addams inspired look! π₯° What you wrote: “And of course, add your own touches: black choker, combat boots, torn fishnets, or anything that screams βYOUβ is so fun, because I love all of those accessories to be in my wardrobe! π€π

Thanks so much π€ That one’s my favorite too! I wasn’t sure how to style that top for the longest time π But it worked out well. And yesss, I love to see all your accessories when you put outfits together. Mine are all packed away until my toddler gets older. Accessories all look like toys to him π
