How to Make a Kawaii Outfit Casual in 3 Easy Steps

When you love kawaii fashion, but you have to keep your outfit “kawaii casual“: don’t fret. I’m here to help πŸ₯°

I’m going to show you an example of a super simple, yet super kawaii outfit that won’t turn a bunch of heads at the next PTA meeting or family gathering!

The trick to keeping your kawaii outfit casual is to choose only one or two kawaii accents. On this outfit, I have chosen a cute bow tie and a cute butterfly purse as my accent pieces.

I’ve also kept the colors simple: I limited my palette to two colors (white and lilacs). The combination is very easy on the eyes.

If you add too many accent pieces or colors, the human eye tends to bounce around from one thing to another, and next thing you know, you are getting way too much attention at your Aunt Mary’s Sir Fluffington the Cat’s funeral. And we don’t want that.

We want to keep our kawaii fashion simple sometimes, and that’s okay!

You can still show off your love of kawaii in small ways πŸ’–

To finish the down-to-earth, casual vibe of this look, choose a hairstyle that is simple. I’ve chosen two braids with the tiniest pop of color at the elastics. You may choose to leave your hair down, or pull it completely up, or have just a single braid ~ whichever look makes you feel cute while keeping it simple πŸ˜‡

  1. Choose only 1 or 2 kawaii items (like a purse and bow tie).
  2. Limit your color palette to 2 colors (such as white and lilac).
  3. Choose a simple hairstyle that’s not too complex, and don’t add too many kawaii hair clips.

I hope my tips are helpful for you!!

Are there any occasions when you just have to tone-down your kawaii? Were you able to do it? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Really nice outfit Himari! πŸ˜€ the colour of white and lilac really work well. The lighter colour of the white is contrasted by the darker tone of the lilac, as you mentioned makes it easy on the eyes. What makes the outfit stand out as well is the accessories, they make the outfit complete. That’s just my rambling from a non-fashionista xDD
